✦ Synopsis

The effects of the hexane, chloroform and methanol extracts of Salix taxifolia were studied on Wistar rat ileum. The chloroform extract produced a relaxation of the smooth muscle. At doses of 2.5 mg/mL it produced a relaxing effect of 10.35% and 31.9% at 1 and 2 min after its administration. Hexane and methanol extracts did not show activity on this model.
