Cigarette smoking is a risk factor for atherosclerosis. It is conceivable that reactive chemical components in cigarette smoke may adversely affect reverse cholesterol transport at the level of 1ecithin:cholesterol acyltransferase (LCAT) and promote atherogenesis. Hence, the effect of cigarette smok
