Infrarotspektroskopische und thermoanalytische Untersuchung von Trikobalt(II)-dihydroxidsulfat-dihydrat, Co3(OH)2(SO4)2 · 2H2O

✦ Synopsis

The infrared spectra between 600 and 4000 cm-1 of Co,(OH),(SO,),~ 2H,O, Co,(OH),(SO,),, and Co,(OD),(S04),.2D,0 are reported and discussed. The spectra are mainly examined in relation to the binding state of the water molecules. The results are in good agreement with the previously described crystal structure studies. Thermogravimetry, differential thermal analysis and X-ray diffraction methods were used to inxrcstigate the unusual thermal decomposition behaviour of CO,(OH)~(SO,), .2 H,O. The kinetics of the tlchvdration reaction are discussed. 2. Experimentelles. -Zur Hcrstcllung dcr deuterierten Vcrbindung Co,(OD),(SO,), .2 L),O wurde durch vollstandige Entwasserung von CoSO, ' 7 H,O bei 450 "C crhaltenes wasserfreies CoSO, in D,O gelost. Die ca. 2~ Losung wurtk mit wcnig NaOI)-Losung versetzt und 24 Std. untcr Ruckfluss gekocht. Aus der dabei entstandencn 'erbindung 2CoSO,.3 Co(OD),. 5 D,O wurde hydrothermal bei ca. 200 "C [2J das gewunschte nicdrigbasischc Produkt gewonnen. Die IR.-Spektren wurden auf einem BPckrnaiz-Gitterspelrtrographen IR-12 in Transmission mit Hilfe der KBr-Pastillentechnik aufgenommcn.

Fur thernioanalytische Arbeiten stand ein registriercnder Vakuuu-Thcrmoanalyzer der Firnia Nlettler [3] z u r Verfiigung. Das Gerat erlaubt die gleichzeitige Durchfuhrung von Thermogravimetrie (TG.), Differential-Thcrmogravimetrie (DTG.) und Differential-Thermoanalyse (DTA.
