The magnetic susceptibility has been determined for CuL,(TCNQ-)2 (L = 2,2'-bipyridine, l,lO-phenanthroline, or ethylenediamme; n = 1 or 2), having high electric conductivity. The results show that the Cu\*+L chelates are partially reduced to Cu+L, in the complexes\_ The equilibrium Cu2\*L,(TCNQ\_)a
## Abstract The formation and structure of four different Cu(II)βclupeine Z complexes have been studied using potentiometric and spectroscopic (ir and visible absorption, and CD) measurements. The results thus obtained indicate the presence of up to 8 binding sites in the pH range from 6.5 to 10.5.
The excited state absorption and emission spectra and lifetimes of a [2]-catenand made of two interlocked 30-membered rings (containing 2,9-dianisyl-l,10-phenanthroline-type coordinating moieties) and its Co 2Γ·, Cu +, and Ag Γ· complexes have been investigated in CH2CI 2 solution. The lowest energy e
