Information on the Operating Mode of Decomposition during the Cooling of an A1-10 at.% Zn Alloy to Various T, Inforination about tlie operating inode of decomposition during cooling t o various T , were gained by SAXS method. After reaching the T, wanted the samples were quenched into water of R T and the SAXS intensity curves were measured at KT. Strong evidence was found that below about 175 "C the decomposition starts in this alloy with the nucleation and growth of Guinier-Preston zones. As proved by other authors, 175 "C is the upper limit temperature Trilll for the onset of the rapid honiogerieous nucleation of precipittttes.

Inforrnationen iiber die vorherrschende Art der Entinischung wiihrend des Abkiitilens zu verscliiedenen T, wurden durch KKWS-Untersuchungeii gewonnen. Nach Erreichen von T, wurden die Proben auf H T abgeschreckt und dort die RKWS-lntensitiitskurven gemessen. Es konnte bewiesen werden, da13 unterlialb von etwa 175 "C die Entmischung init der Entsteliung und dem Wachstum von Guinier-Preston-Zonen beginnt. Wie von anderen Autoren bewiesen wurde, ist 175 "C in dieser Legierung init der oberen Grenzteniperatur Trhn des Einsatzes der schnellen hornogenen Keinibildung von Aussclieidungen identisch.
