✦ Synopsis
The book deals with the theory, fundamentals and the calculation and optimization of complex high vacuum systems and their components.
Principal theoretical models of molecular transfer for rarefied gases are presented; the main emphasis being on the appropriate equations of the kinetic theory. Techniques of analysis are described to obtain the molecular flow distribution in time and space in vacuum vessels, systems with located and distributed parameters as well as in systems with structure periodicity. Methods and data of transmission probability calculations of various conduits and pipes are given as well as their molecular flow spatial distributions. A mathematical model is proposed, and calculation is considered, of surface-action pumps, and the criteria and principles of their structure and geometry optimization are presented.
The results of the most of the problems considered are given in an easy-to-use form.
The book is written for specialists in vacuum and electrophysics apparatus, experimental physics, devices for science. It may also be found valuable to senior and post-graduate students and teaching staff.
