An improved system for recording all work carried out on the bolted joints in a plant has been introduced by Hedley Purvis.

Informate Professional has been developed using customer feedback on Informate 2001. The programme contains features such as a joint register, work pack matrices and the ability to export information into Excel or other formats. It also makes calculations for standard and nonstandard joints and for exotic flange materials such as Cunifer, Super Duplex and Hastelloy. The Specials section allows calculations to be made for items such as heat exchangers and compact flanges without the need to call the manufacturer. Advanced Options make it possible to override the information held on joint thickness and residual stress. The program then recalculates the torque and tension figures and also the minimum bolt length.
