✦ Synopsis

The thermal expansion is measured for Pb from roomtemperature till 300°C by two methods: dilatometric and with X-rays. No difference is found. This result is either due to the concentration of vacancies being too small at high temperature or to the influence of vacancies on the lattice parameter as calculated by Eshelby.
