A number of 2,3-epoxy alcohol derivatives (1-16), obtained either as racemates or through the Sharpless asymmetric epoxidation reaction, were studied on a Chiralcel OD column. Nearly all compounds exhibit good enantioselective resolution on this chiral support. The order of elution of enantiomers is

โฆ Synopsis
The elution order of the 2,4,5-substituted PCB congeners was determined on four capillary columns (CP-Select for PCBs, CP-Sil 8/20% C-18, CP-Sil 19, and CP-Sil 88) with a wide range of polarity. Normalizing of the retention times of these PCB congeners allowed us to compare the influence of the structure on the retention times on different columns. Several trends were derived which were attributed to the different polarities of the phases. The trends were discussed by comparing the influence of the structure on selected PCB separation problems.
