✦ Synopsis

An AC-susceptibility and electrical resistivity study of the influence of the oxygen rearrangement on normal-state and superconducting properties has been carried out on YBa2Cu306.42 ceramics. The superconducting transition temperature and electrical conductivity of the quenched samples increase with aging at room temperature. The observed increase in diamagnetic shielding of powdered samples with room-temperature aging can be attributed to the change of the magnetic penetration depth. Changes of physical properties are attributed to the enhancement of the density of charged carriers in the band of CuO2-planes. The reverse process of the disordering of the oxygen subsystem can be observed on heating as an anomalous increasing of the resistivity of the sample at temperatures higher than 300 K.
