โฆ Synopsis
In this latest installment in an occasional series from China on the performance of centrifugal oil pumps, Professor Wen-Guang Li and colleagues at the Gansu University of Technology investigate the effects of the number of impeller blades on the pumping of viscous oils. They discuss the interlinked effects of viscosity and blade number on the performance of a standard commercial pump, and reveal the optimum number of blades for pumping liquids of different viscosities.
