SYNOPSIS
Cotton fabrics were pregrafted with a mixture of N-methylolacrylamide and methacrylic acid at mixing molar ratio of 4/6. The influence of pregrafting on the kinetics of finishing with 1,3-dimethylolethylene urea was studied. The results shows that pregrafting can increase the rate constants. Values of E,, AH*, AS*, and AG* suggest that the pregrafting of cotton fabric not only affects the reaction action state, but also is beneficial for the reaction between cellulose and the finishing agent.

## Abstract The kinetics of the creaseβresistant finishing process for cotton fabrics with DMEU/MMEU prepolymer mixture are studied. The DMEU/MMEU prepolymer resin is made from ethylene urea (EU) and paraformaldehyde (PF) with different mole ratios. The results show that the nitrogen content in the
The influence of pregrafting of cotton fabrics with mixed monomer on the dyeing kinetics of direct dyes was investigated. The results of this research show that the equilibrium absorption (a e ) and activation energy (DE\*) in the dyeing of grafted fabrics are smaller than those of ungrafted fabrics
Combinations of ethylene urea and paraformaldehyde with different mol ratios are used as source materials to synthesize a DMEU/MMEU resin prepolymer in various mixing ratios. The DMEU/MMEU resin prepolymer is then applied to the crease-resistant finish of cotton fabrics. The results show that the dr
