Iron(II1) has a very effective releasing effect on the depressive interference from copper(I1) on the determination of selenium by hydride-generation atomic absorption spectrometry. In solutions with 100 mg 1-l Cu(II), 10 pg 1-l Se(IV) and 2.0 mol 1-l HCl, the absorbance obtained was much higher wh
