✦ Synopsis

We present an analysis of the effects of the oxidation and of adsorbed hydrogen on the specific heat and the thermal conductivity of a 0.145 g/cm 3 base-catalysed aerogel at low temperatures (1.4 < T < 25 K). The results show distinct differences in the behaviour of the specific heat depending on the treatment of the sample and on the employed cooling procedure, but the thermal conductivity is not affected.
