Photoluminescence spectra of CdTe:Cl crystals were measured at 5 K before and after irradiation by the second harmonic of a YAG:Nd laser. It was found that the Huang-Rhys factor for donor-acceptor pair (DAP) recombination increases after irradiation with laser power above the CdTe melting point whic

β¦ Synopsis
Defect development predictions by a continuous theory need a very sofisticated description of the failure mode which can result from the often treated growth of voids, but also from an assembly of microcracks. Especially the second kind needs a special formalism and simultaneously the consideration of the local stresses inside those grains where the cracks propagate. This paper has the aim to point out several formal aspects which have to be considered in such a kind of theory.
