Abstract

A kinetic modelling of 1d collisional and 2d Vlasov magnetic SOL's using the W1 and W2 particle codes is presented. Deviation of the distribution function from the equilibrium one is shown, as well as the possibility of kinetic instability in diverted plasmas.
