✦ Synopsis

The interaction of Rq(CO),, and Fes(CO),,, and that of RqFe(CO),, with alumina were studied during thermal treatment by IT-IR spectroscopy. The interaction of R+Fe(CO),, with alumina results in the formation of Re-tricarbonyls as in the Rq(CO),, + Fes(CO),,/AI,O, system, even at room temperature. In the view of this fact, the possibility of the action of reactive Fe-monocarbonyls [Fe(CO)s, Fe(CO),] on the Re,(CO),, with appearance of a R%Fe(CO),, as a transient intermediate on the support, cannot be excluded.
