Numerical simulations of the anomalous behavior of a plate/liquid/underwater explosion system are presented. The term"anomalous"implies that the final deflection ofa plate is in the opposite direction to the direction of the explosion pressure. It is shown that anomalous behaviour takes place in a certain narrow range of the explosion pressure variation if the elastic unloading of the plate material and the liquid cavitation occur simultaneously. Small disturbances of the system parameters within this sensitive range can change the plate deformation history dramatically.
