✦ Synopsis

Taking into account the influence of position and length of grating, spectral response of conventional 2 Â 2 fused coupler incorporated with Bragg grating is numerically investigated and analyzed. Simulation results show that optical add and drop multiplexer based on conventional fused coupler can be realized by choosing an optimized position and appropriate length of grating as well as based on photosensitive coupler. Moreover, device performance could be greatly enhanced by imprinting a nonlinear chirped grating instead of the uniform one.
