The mechanisms of absorption of water-based solutions of polyelectrolyte (Na-PMAA) or binder (polyvinylalcohol, PVA) into asymmetric porous compacts were studied. The capillary pressure of each solution was calculated from the absorption rate. An absorption model developed for the two-layered struct
