✦ Synopsis

T h e survival has been analyzed of 344 unselected new patients with thyroid cancer seen at the Christie Hospital, Manchester, between 1945 and 1955. All have been followed for 10 years. T h e age incidence is similar in males and females. There is a consistent inverse correlation between age at diagnosis and survival, both within the group as a whole and within the 2 main subgroupspatients having differentiated tumor and those having poorly differentiated tumor; this correlation is based only on those cases in which the patient died of tumor.
