The mftuence of electrolytes on the phororedax kinerlcs and cage escape y~clds of redo\ praducts (d,,d& in the quenching of Ru(bpy$* by methylvlologen (F@), TIllI and I-@1 have been invesbgated. For all three quCnChers drc,Jox appears to bc strongly dependent on the nature of the amon. Photoelectrochemical cells based on the latter systems arc described.
