C/2006 P1 McNaught is a dynamically new comet from the Oort cloud that passed very close to the Sun, driving overall volatile production rates up to about 10 31 molecules s -1 . Post-perihelion observations were obtained in a target-of-opportunity campaign using the CSHELL instrument at the NASA Inf
using the broadband array spectrograph system on the IRTF. The spectrum showed a silicate emission feature extending about 20% above the continuum. Two emission features at 10.3 and 11.2 Β΅m appeared above the silicate band, the latter seemingly indicative of crystalline olivine. The 10.3-Β΅m feature
