โฆ Synopsis
A phase space description of inelastic atom-diatom scattering has been made in terms of wavefunctions in the phase space representation developed by Torres-Vega and Frederick. The new formulation contains much more information about scattering processes than that in coordinate or momentum space. No assumptions have been made in the derivation.

The Heisenberg and Liouville dynamical equations are mapped using the Wave-Packet Phase Space Representation. A semiclassical perturbative expansion is introduced -the Quasi-Causal Approximation -for the Green function and an expression for transition probabilities is derived up to the first order.
