The fluorescence-plus-Giemsa (FPG) technique for analysis of sister chromatid exchange (SCE) is widely used as an assay for mutagenic carcinogens. There is very little information, however, on whether incorporation of the bromodeoxyuridine (BrdU) necessary for visualization of SCEs affects the sensi
