✦ Synopsis
An Y-Ba-Cu-O compound containing a small quantity of added fluorine was developed which exhibited magnetization curves at 77 K very similar to those of practical superconductors used at 4.2 K such as Nb-Ti and Nb3Sn. When formed in bulk, the compound is made up of grains which are closely connected to each other and has uniformly arranged laminated domains. The critical current density, as estimated from the observed magnetization curve at 77 K, was about five times greater than that of pure Y Ba Cu-O compounds.
