Molecular mechanics calculations were employed to study the inclusion of 2-methyl naphthoate in alpha- and beta-cyclodextrin in vacuo and in the presence of water as a solvent. The driving forces for complexation are dominated by nonbonded van der Waals host:guest interactions in both environments.

The complexation of ferrocene and several ferrocene derivatives with the hosts a-cyclodextrin (a-CD) and b-cyclodextrin (b-CD) was investigated by electrospray mass spectrometry. A 2:1 complex was detected between a-CD and ferrocene while a 1:1 complex was observed with b-CD and this organometallic
As a chemical indicator, the isomerization rate of so-called 6-SO 3 À -spiropyran was used to estimate the equilibrium constants for the inclusion complex formation of band g-cyclodextrins (b and g-CDs). The association constants for inclusion complexes of band g-CDs with various kinds of phenols we

Complexation properties of cetirizine dihydrochloride (cetirizine) with "-, $-, and (-cyclodextrin (CD) were investigated by ultra violet (UV) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopies and isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC). The use of the continuous variation method, applied on UV and
