โฆ Synopsis
This issue of Peptide Science marks the "passing of the baton": As of the 2004 publication year, Charles Deber has stepped down as Editor of Peptide Science, and I am attempting to step into his shoes. We all owe Charlie a huge debt of gratitude for his very effective and very extensive service to Peptide Science. He took over the reins of the young journal after Murray Goodman, the Founding Editor of Peptide Science, had shepherded its inaugural years. Charlie established Peptide Science as a top-notch reviews journal. The topical coverage in the "Current Trends in Peptide Science" reviews epitomized the diverse and exciting field that is "peptide science." Based on the important criteria of impact factor and citation frequency, the journal has been very successful, and the peptide community has come to hold it in high regard as a home to well-written and timely reviews. Luckily, Charlie has agreed to remain with Peptide Science for the next year as "Current Trends in Peptide Science" Editor. Thanks Charlie for what you've done, and for your willingness to continue working on behalf of the journal!
