## Abstract During lens regeneration in the newt the synthesis of hyaluronic acid increases as iris cells undergo dedifferentiation, and decreases during the redifferentiation phase. In contrast, the levels of hyaluronidase activity which are high in the normal iris remain constant during regenerat
