In the binary system Ni-Ir it is known that Ni and Ir form a complete solid solution over the entire composition range. Starting from this, Ni 48.5-x Ti 51.5 Ir x alloys with x = 0, 2.5, 5 and 10 at.% and a Ni 49.5 Ti 48 Ir 2.5 alloy have been prepared by arc melting in an argon atmosphere in order
