Poly (dimethylsiloxane) elastomers that had been filled with in situ precipitated silica were studied by thermogravimetric analysis, under nitrogen and in air. Both types of measurements indicated that the filler raises the temperature of thermooxidative degradation of the polymer, possibly by inact
