actively taught human gross anatomy for 16 more years. He laid his scalpel to rest in 2006. He was appointed to the anatomy faculty in 1952. Rising through the ranks, he earned the reputation as an authority in human gross anatomy. He taught three generations of medical students. His teaching tenure spanned 54 years. During this period, he was associate dean of medical school admissions, head of medical gross, did a teaching sabbatical at the University of Nottingham, England, gave an annual course in clinical anatomy for surgeons, and taught gross to medical, dental, nursing, physical therapists, librarians, and other paramedical specialties.
