The mean field description of nuclear matter in the quark-meson coupling model is improved by the inclusion of exchange contributions (Fock terms). The inclusion of Fock terms allows us to explore the momentum dependence of meson-nucleon vertices and the role of pionic degrees of freedom in matter.
In a systematic experimental study of K + and K-production in nuclear collisions at energies close to and below the free nucleon-nucleon production threshold we have found several features indicating a change of kaon properties within the nuclear medium.
We investigate the effects on mean-field quantities and nuclear pairing in symmetric nuclear matter of the density-dependent effective nucleon-scalar-meson coupling that is obtained in a Ο -Ο quarkmeson coupling model. We find that the effective coupling strongly modifies mean-field quantities, such
