In the study of the behaviors of barriers in an enclosed "eld, one should take into account such phenomena as sound energy re#ection, absorption, scattering and di!raction. Therefore, the study is much more di$cult than that in free "eld. In this paper, sound barriers are classi"ed into four kinds a
