โฆ Synopsis
The producbon of d~calcmm phosphate (DCP) from sohd phosphate, hydrochlonc acid and calcium carbonate was sunulated m bench scale expenments Occasionally the drssolution of cakmm carbonate partjcles was mterrupted at h&y ac~dlc medmm and sometunes the carbonate was mcorporated m the product It was found that whenever the concentration of fluonde was sulliclent, calcmm fluonde preclprtated upon calcmm carbonate parkles fonnmg a protective envelope Such parkles. pnor to the redlssoluhon of the envelope, could act as substrates for heterogeneous nucleation of the snnultaneously preclpltatmg d~cakmm phosphate They were mcorporated m the product at the start of DCP formation, when only about half of the acidity was neutralized
