Regulations on electrical safety proposed

New regulations covering the safe use of electricity at work in all industries have been proposed by the Health and Safety Commission. The use of electricity at work is virtually universal, yet the present safety provisions apply to barely one-third of all people at work. The proposed new Regulations seek to remedy any shortcomings of existing legislation by stating the principles of electrical safety and to apply these uniformly to all works and workers.
