Abstract
The authors discuss the value of routinely using the left lateral decubitus position for ultrasound evaluation of th gall bladder. This technique often affords improved visualizaiton, clarifies abnormalities suspected in the supine position, and in some cases demonstrates a gall bladder that cannot be seen in the supine position.
