We explore the region of small sea quark masses below mps/mv = 0.5 in two-flavor QCD using a mean-field improved clover quark action and an RG-improved gauge action at a N 0.2 fm on 12" x 24 and 1G3 x 24 lattices. We find that instability of the standard BiCGStab algorithm at small quark masses can

β¦ Synopsis
We present preliminary results from UKQCD simulations at light quark masses using two flavours of nonpertubatively improved Wilson fermions. We report on the performance of the standard HMC algorithm at these quark masses where m,/m, < 0.5 in comparison with simulations using improved staggered quarks.

We calculate the masses of light and strange quarks using a high statistics lattice simulation of QCD with n] = 2 dynamical Wilson fermions. The simulation has been carried out at three different values of the sea quark mass. For each sea quark we have analyzed our data at five different values of t
