✦ Synopsis

An improved and straightforward synthesis of (4-ethenylphenyl)diphenyl methanol is described. This monomer was used in the preparation of trityl functionalized polystyrene containing a flexible tetrahydrofuran cross-linker, giving rise to a suitable support for solid-phase organic synthesis.
