✦ Synopsis


Magnetic properties of a melt-textured ErBa2Cu3OT_6 have been studied. The superconducting properties are much improved over those of the sintered sample. The inductive critical current density has the same order of magnitude as in YBa2Cu307_a single crystals and has a reduced magnetic field dependence. The density was measured as 7.04 g/cm 3, which corresponds to 99. 1% of the theoretical value. The lower critical field H¢l is also determined via magnetization measurements.
