Abstract

The improvement of spurious responses of a λ/4 resonator bandpass filter (BPF) using a microstrip line (MSL) is carried out. Firstly, a basic mechanism for improving the resonance responses of the λ/4 resonator, under the condition that the excitation method is changed, is presented. Secondly, on the basis of the above proposal, the BPF is demonstrated as an example. It is confirmed that the λ/4 resonator using the tap‐coupling technique can improve the spurious responses of the BPF using λ/4 resonators. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
