✦ Synopsis
Improved catalysts are now ready for hydrotreating petroleum fuel
Haldor Topsoe, based in Lyngby, Denmark, has launched TK 575 BRIM and TK 605 BRIM hydroprocessing catalysts based on its proprietary BRIM technology. The new catalysts are nickel-molybdenum types that enhance hydrogenation at so called brim sites and Type II active sites for direct desulfurization. The TK 575 BRIM catalyst is suitable for high pressure and ultra-low sulfur diesel applications. It has been particularly designed for eliminating refractive organic sulfur compounds. The TK 605 BRIM catalyst is suitable for hydrocracking-pre-treatment purposes. It can remove refractory nitrogen compounds such as carbazoles.
