โฆ Synopsis
School attendance has been described by several authors [4,6,10,11,15,16,[18][19][20][21][22][23][27][28][29][30][31][32], and was found to be the biggest problem in the year following diagnosis; this difficulty decreases with time [23,31,32]. Children with cancer are absent more often than those with other chronic conditions [21,22]. Absence rates are higher for those undergoing bone marrow transplants [19], and those with CNS tumors [20]; also for children who relapse compared with those in remission [28].
