T he summer of 1998 was marked by staff changes within the Office of the Chief Accountant (OCA), the Division of Corporation Finance, and the Division of Enforcement. In July, Colleen P. Mahoney, the Acting General Counsel since May, left the SEC to become a partner in the Washington, DC office of the law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate & Flow, LLP. In her fifteen-year tenure Ms. Mahoney served the Commission in many capacities, including executive assistant to the Chairman, chief counsel of the Division of Enforcement, and as an assistant general counsel.
