โฆ Synopsis
The roles of the egg and the uterus in the implantation process have received almost uninterrupted attention by investigators for about 60 years and are deserving of comprehensive review. Since the studies of Loeb ( '08) the so-called deciduo-ma1 reaction has been explored from a truly extraordinary variety of aspects. This paper will not attempt to review this large body of literature, but will report results of experiments which cast some light on the endometrial response in the '' sensitized" uterus of the rat. ( F o r a fuller discussion of pertinent aspects of the problem see Blandau, '49 ; Alden, '48.) '10% formalin was pipetted into the watch glass containnig the ova in 0.85% NaCl. Therefore resulting concentration is not known, but it now seems possible that some ova were not fixed (see text).
