Background. Patients with congestive heart failure (CHF) have increased ventilatory equivalent for carbon dioxide (Ve/VCO 2 ), which may contribute to the symptom of exerciseinduced hyperpnea. We have developed a technique in which simultaneous blood volume single photon emission computed tomography
