✦ Synopsis

After several years of investigation into soil erosion in the Parisian Basin, the author tries to explain the effects of splash and aeolian transportation on soil erosion in this region (hills and silty plateaus). To quantify the results, four experimental measuring instruments were set up and used for three years in the field. Considering both processes the data shown give about 4 per cent of denuded material from bare soils, per year. It was also seen that aeolian transport could move more particles up a windblown slope than could splash.
