The mistaken score simply aggregated the 20 items, rather than ยฎrst reversing the orientation of items 4, 8, 12 and 16. The correlation in our sample between the old and new scores was 0.79, and while major ยฎndings involving depression as an endpoint did not alter substantially, the following corrections seem required.
