## Electroluminescence (EL) and impact ionisation phenomena in an asyssaetric GaAs/(AlGa)As double barrier resonant tunnelling structure are investigated. Determination of the charge density and electric field distribution throughout the structure enables a detailed analysis of impact ionisation p
