## Abstract In breast cancer, the determination of estrogen receptor (ER) expression is crucial for the decision on therapeutic strategies. Current ER expression analysis is based on immunohistochemical (IHC) staining of ER on formalin fixed tissue sections. However, low levels of ER expression fre
